Three rules for goals that actually move.

A goal without a next step is a wish. These three rules turn a goal into a thing that moves: a milestone you can close this month, a horizon short enough to feel, and a reason to look back at what's done.
1. Goals need a next milestone
"Get fit" is a wish. "Walk 5 km by month end" is a plan.
Goals stall when they're only an end point. Break each one into milestones you can reach in weeks, and always know the very next one.
The next step is the whole plan.
2. Think in 90 days
A year is too far. A quarter is just right.
Yearly goals feel endless and get forgotten by March. Set goals for the next 90 days instead: close enough to feel urgent, long enough to matter.
Short horizons, real progress.
3. Celebrate the progress
Every milestone deserves a moment.
We remember what's left and forget what's done. When you hit a milestone, stop and mark it. Seeing progress is what keeps you going.
Progress noticed is progress continued.
